In Britain, the cultural importance of Black music and HipHop is well documented by major institutions, including the British Library and public arts organisations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Ireland has its own independent HipHop development. Artists, DJs, events and cultural programmes have helped establish a visible scene with its own character. That distinction matters.
