DJ Nippy

Biography

DJ Nippy’s musical roots go back to the early days of French HipHop culture. Already active as a dancer and choreographer during the 1980s, he became part of the emerging HipHop scene before establishing himself as a DJ between 1989 and 1992, particularly during his time at Paris 8 University.

A defining chapter of his career took place during the Golden Era of French Rap. As the official DJ for French rapper Ménélik and his crew La Tribu, he accompanied numerous studio sessions and live performances across France and internationally. Especially throughout the 1990s, this collaboration became an important part of his HipHop journey.

Over the years, DJ Nippy developed further connections within the French Rap and underground scene, including artists, producers, and collectives such as Le Damier, Logilo, Soldafada, and Doc Shadow.

His musical journey connects the early influences of the French HipHop movement with decades of experience behind the turntables. HipHop, R&B, and Oldschool form the focus of his presentation within DJ-League.

Today, based in Montpellier, France, DJ Nippy brings this part of his musical heritage and experience to the international DJ-League network.
