Biography

Kashief Hamilton, widely known as “DJ General Kuntry”, stepped on the entertainment scene as a solo disc jockey in 2011. Since then, DJ General Kuntry has set out to ensure his place on the Virgin Islands entertainment scene. As time passed, his brand started to grow and he took on the title of DJ General Kuntry, “The Leader of the DJ Army”, a fierce leader who wanted to be one of the voices of Disc Jockeys on the entertainment scene. During this time, his support started to grow! His unique DJ style started catching the attention of not only local promoters but promoters from the mainland and other Caribbean islands. This led to him being requested to bring his level of turn up and style to the listening ear of different nightclubs and events in the Caribbean and on the mainland. As his career continued, DJ General Kuntry was setting trends with his high energy, unique DJ style, crowd control techniques, and crowd participation. This uniqueness earned him invitations to grace the stage with some world-renowned DJs; some of which he looked up to and respected. DJs such as the Mighty Crown, Black Chiney, Fatman Scoop, just to name a few. He was honored to have met such strong players in his field and to be a part of the greatness his career had blessed him with. One of the highlights of DJ General Kuntry’s career came when he was signed as the official DJ to the international reggae recording artist, Pressure Buss Pipe. This was more than just a proud moment but an honor. As he was recognized for all the hard work and time he put into his career, it was so thrilling to work with a childhood friend and bring more exposure to the place where it all started for the two artists…The beautiful Virgin Islands. Since then, DJ General Kuntry has been called on numerous times to entertain and DJ for various other artists such as Vershon, Gaza Slim, Etan, Super Blue, and Patrice Roberts, just to name a few. These days, among many other things, you can find DJ General Kuntry gracing the airwaves on one of the Virgin Islands’ more popular radio stations, 107.9 FM, Da Vybe. There he hosts “Kuntry in the Morning” from Mondays to Thursdays and “Fire Friday” on Fridays, dropping the hottest hits in all genres for his listeners of various backgrounds. Not a newcomer to the radio, DJ General Kuntry’s listeners made him a household name. The demand for him started to shift in other areas such as weddings, baby showers, day sails, charity functions, and retirement parties. Once he’s available to provide his feel-good vibe, he’s always willing to accommodate his listeners! Working in this arena also allows him to showcase his skills and create mixtapes for his listeners, ranging from soul to soca, hip-hop to dancehall, and summer jams to holiday ballads! Basically, meeting the needs of his listening audience and supporters! As he continues to trust the process set for him in his career, DJ General Kuntry has solidified his mark. He never forgets the body of people, the movement, that have always supported him as he grew as an entertainer! The “soldiers” that march in support of the beat of his musical abilities!
