Biography

Jason Rivera, professionally known as DJ Whut!, is a Brooklyn born, Copenhagen based DJ with more than 27 years of experience shaped by the cultural diversity and musical depth of New York City. Growing up during the late eighties and nineties, he was immersed in an environment where Hip Hop, R&B, disco, funk, soul, house, dancehall and Latin music co-existed naturally and influenced everyday life.

This background formed his musical philosophy early on. Rather than following trends or relying on fixed playlists, Jason approaches DJing as a craft rooted in flow, timing and emotional awareness. Music is selected with intention, guided by atmosphere and human connection rather than volume or spectacle.

His sound reflects the influence of global cities such as New York, London and Paris, blending classic foundations with a modern sensibility. Jason’s musical identity is defined by depth, balance and authenticity, with an emphasis on groove driven selections that feel timeless rather than momentary.

At the core of his work lies a strong belief that music should serve the room, enhance shared moments and create lasting impressions. This mindset continues to guide his approach, regardless of setting or audience.
