Originally produced and written by the legendary Elliot Straite, better known as Dr. Freeze, and released as the debut single for Bell Biv DeVoe, Poison quickly climbed the charts, landing on the Billboard Hot 100 and securing a Top 10 position on MTV. Now, in 2025, Poison is back in full force.

The reimagined version, “Poison (Full Effect)”, was released on April 4 by Unichord Music Group. Produced by DJ Superjam, Guney Durmus, and Chivas Kimber, the track preserves the iconic identity of the original while injecting it with modern chill elements, rhythmic grooves, and contemporary production that give it a new edge.

Taking the project one step further, the team dropped a hard-hitting hip-hop remix—“Poison (Full Effect) [Remix]”—on May 23. But even before that official release, the remix premiered on May 15 with an exclusive debut on Peil One, Germany’s leading urban music radio station, signaling the track’s entrance into the urban club scene.

The excitement doesn’t stop at streaming platforms: the track is already available in DJ record pools worldwide, allowing club and radio DJs early access to bring Poison back to the dance floors. This ensures the single will not only resonate with streaming audiences but also become a fixture in nightlife and live sets across international scenes.
