Hey what’s going on folks … it’s DJ Zero from The DJ-League here with a quick review of DJ Times Magazines DJX 2021 at the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. After taking a brief hiatus last year (2020) they’re back and ready to rock for 2021! The four-day event was filled with all of the latest technology, giveaways, panels featuring industry veterans, networking events, parties with legendary DJs and so much more, it was great.
I was reminded of MobileBeat Magazines MBLV23 in Las Vegas 2019, this felt like the east coast version of that, except this time there was an ocean view (and a breeze). With the boardwalk and Steel Pier behind it, the location was perfect, the Hard Rock Casino seemed fitting considering some of the talent that was walking around. It wasn’t out of the ordinary to bump into some heavy hitters in the hallways, some going to the same seminars as beginners to show support.
The Panels were also dope, featuring industry veterans like DJ Skribble, Scene Kings, Lodato, Disco Fries and more dropping serious knowledge, I was taking notes all week (always be a student). They also had seminars featuring established DJs like DJ Jay and Pri Yon Joni for Pioneers Battle tested as well as up and comers like Staci the Trackstar and Chris Washburn telling you their tips to success. I got to meet some of them years ago as attendees, it’s so dope now that they’re back presenting!
The Exhibit hall was a sight to behold, featuring exhibitors from Pioneer, ReLoop, Virtual DJ, Chauvet, Audio-Technica, Bose, Bunn Gear, Jmaz Lighting, Tribe XR, Vibo and way more, it was awesome. With giveaways and plenty of schwag, the booths and their representatives also did a great job of informing everyone about their product or service, I didn’t leave with any questions.
The night time networking events were equally bananas, one particular event featuring DJ Skribble and DJ Scratch at Daer Nightclub was the highlight of my week, a true display of skill and how to rock a party! DJs are very critical by nature (especially of other DJs) it’s part of the gift and the curse. So when a whole club of DJs go nuts for HOURS you know it was a spectacle…you really had to be there!
The last day was bittersweet, as everything was winding down, there was a sense of foreboding that the party was over, travel, hectic flight schedules, back to reality, back to work. But even though I wish I had more time, I’m grateful for the time that I had and I know I will see you all again, possibly in Las Vegas!
Huge shout out to DJ Times Magazine for throwing this spectacular soiree and to their sponsors (Pioneer DJ, RCF, Chauvet DJ, JMAZ lighting, Italian Speaker Imports, Max Design and One Way Events) it was a week to remember.
Till next time folks, stay safe and rock on!
