DJ Mastertrack

Biography

Born and raised in Málaga, Spain (1975).This experienced DJ from the Old School soon become fond of black music. In 1983 he started to listen to the famous radio program “Disco Monster”. Thus, being just a child, he took a liking to this music and its styles and he knew this was what he wanted in his live. At a very early age he already listened to Funk, Disco, R&B, Rap, New Jack Swing… This gave him a wide musical knowledge, his strong point. By the end of the 80s he had already made his firsts mixes in cassette and vinil. A little later, under the name DJ Track, he started as a DJ in several bands, with which he played the songs and made the scratches of that time. Later on, his colleagues encouraged him to rap, so he also took his first steps as an MC, but he preferred the turntables. For many years he has worked together with bands which unluckily did not grew as much as he expected and he has been away from everything for some time, but never from black music, his true passion. He has always preferred to keep himself away from notoriety and to remain in the background. For many years he has not worked as a DJ in any clubs, but since many of his friends thought he was wasting his talent, a lot of people encouraged him to share his music again. And he did… since that moment on he started DJing in several pubs and discos in Málaga City, its provinces and some other Spanish regions… he has not stopped since then. His sessions are characterized by a wide variety of sounds, mixing new and old – always tending to Old School, his passion, and especially New Jack Swing – mixing in the traditional style. He has shared the billing with important national DJs and some artists well-known abroad. He started like Dj Track but he changed his name to Dj Mastertrack to honored Old School Djs.
